AForge.NET compatibility

Postby michel-carbone » Fri Nov 18, 2016 10:49 am

Hello,

I am trying to develop a library in C# using AForge.NET library 2.2.5 in order to acquire images from a webcam and save them to disk.

My code works fine on Windows XP and on Windows 7 but not on Windows 10. In windows 10 I can get and set settings to the webcam but I do not receive any frame when I start the webcam. Is there any compatibility issues of the AForge.NET libraries?

Best regards

Michel

Hello,

I did not try using AForge.NET Framework on Windows 10, so can not tell for sure what could be the problem. However you are welcome to debug with the source code.
With best regards,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,

I tried to run my code on another Windows 10 machine this morning and my code works on this second machine with the same USB webcam... So it is perhaps a driver problem or anything else on the first machine.

If I find the issue on the machine where the acquisition of images does not works, i'll post the solution here.

It is correct that the last version of AForge.NET source code is at this place? https://github.com/andrewkirillov/AForge.NET

Best regards

Hello Michel,

Yes, the GitHub is the last version of the code.
With best regards,
Andrew

Thanks for your answer :-)

I was not sure because the Aforge documentation on the website does not link to Github but to Google Code.

Hello

I am trying to develop a library in C# using AForge.NET for reading and decoding barcodes code39 and datamatrix. I work with Acer Iconia tab 8 w and windows 10. With datamatrix everything is ok (mby little hard reading in less lighted place), but reading code39 is very difficult. Is the problem to the camera, OS Windows 10, or I can make some changes in my code for this issue?

Thanks in advanced
Dusan
